Measure the full route before releasing an IA-2200 or IA-2500 for dispatch. The listed IA-2200 cabinet is 2200 x 900 x 900 mm and the listed IA-2500 is 2500 x 900 x 900 mm. Those are product dimensions, not guaranteed packed dimensions or safe handling clearances. A Ghana distributor should obtain the current package drawing, establish the permitted handling orientation, and prove every doorway, turn, ramp and staging point from the truck to the final warehouse position.
The IA-2200 lists 860 L and 255 W; the IA-2500 lists 1300 L and 580 W. Both are listed at -24 to 0°C in the current product record. Capacity and power help procurement, but neither field answers whether the packaged cabinet can turn through a corridor or whether the destination electrical circuit is acceptable.

Use the Packaged Load, Not Only the Cabinet
Begin with a supplier document that shows:
- exact model and quantity;
- bare cabinet dimensions;
- packed length, width and height;
- gross weight and lifting/handling points;
- permitted transport and storage orientation;
- pallet, skid or crate dimensions;
- removable packaging components;
- lid, hinge, control and cord protection;
- centre-of-gravity or special handling notice where supplied;
- accessory and document packs that travel with the unit.
The current public record lists cabinet size but leaves packed dimensions and gross weight unestablished. Keep those fields OPEN until ICEAGE supplies the current order documents. An arbitrary clearance added to cabinet dimensions is not a package size.
Map the Ghana Route as a Chain of Gates
Walk the actual site with the receiving and warehouse teams. Give every constraint a gate ID:
| Gate | What to measure and record |
|---|---|
| G1 Truck position | Vehicle type, tail position, ground condition and unloading zone |
| G2 Receiving threshold | Clear width/height, step, lip, canopy and door hardware |
| G3 First turn | Approach length, corner geometry and opposite-wall clearance |
| G4 Corridor/aisle | Minimum clear width, floor condition and temporary obstructions |
| G5 Ramp/lift | Platform, opening, rated load and responsible approver |
| G6 Security door | Clear opening with leaves, bars and stops in final position |
| G7 Staging area | Space to inspect packaging without blocking traffic |
| G8 Final position | Cabinet footprint, lid opening, ventilation and service space |
Record the narrowest clear width and height after hinges, handles, stops and protective rails. Photograph the measuring points and put the tape reference in frame. A door schedule taken from an old drawing is not enough if security work, shelving or stock has changed the route.
Use a simple route sketch with travel direction and turn centres. A straight 900 mm-wide cabinet cannot be assumed to pass a nominal 900 mm opening; physical clearance, packaging and handling equipment need room, and the approved minimum must come from the responsible logistics plan.
Compare the Two Models at the Route Stage
| Listed field | IA-2200 | IA-2500 | Route implication to verify |
|---|---|---|---|
| Capacity | 860 L | 1300 L | Stock plan and destination role |
| Cabinet size | 2200 x 900 x 900 mm | 2500 x 900 x 900 mm | Longer turning and staging envelope for IA-2500 |
| Listed power | 255 W | 580 W | Separate electrical review; not route clearance |
| Temperature range | -24 to 0°C | -24 to 0°C | Same listed range; does not equal identical system details |
| Packed dimensions | OPEN | OPEN | Must be confirmed for the actual order |
| Gross weight | OPEN | OPEN | Must be confirmed before equipment selection |
The IA-2500 adds 300 mm to the listed cabinet length. That difference can matter most at a ninety-degree turn, inside a short receiving bay or when aligning the cabinet with a narrow final row. Length alone cannot establish that IA-2200 “fits” and IA-2500 “does not”; model both packed rectangles with the approved handling equipment and clearances. The IA-1760, IA-1960 and IA-2000 Ghana site-fit comparison covers the smaller listed group and remains a separate selection resource.
The exact ICEAGE commercial chest-freezer range is the inquiry landing page. Request the current order-specific data sheet because the public page states that specifications can vary by production batch.

Assign Handling Responsibility Before the Truck Arrives
The purchase and delivery plan should name who provides the unloading equipment, who operates it, who protects floors and doors, who decides whether packaging may be removed, and who signs the route release.
Protective packaging should stay in place at the roadside unless the supplier and responsible handler approve a controlled removal method. Early unpacking can expose the lid, hinges, cabinet skin, controls and accessories to damage and can weaken the receiving evidence.
If the route cannot be proven, change the delivery plan before dispatch. Options may include a different entrance, temporary removal of an approved obstruction, revised staging, a smaller model mix or construction work by the responsible site party. Never improvise by tilting a cabinet beyond its documented handling limits.
Check the Final Warehouse Position
Passing the doorway is only half the job. At the destination, mark the cabinet footprint and all operating clearances. Confirm:
- lid opening and staff reach;
- aisle and trolley route when lids are open;
- ventilation and service access from the current manufacturer drawing;
- floor condition and verified load review by the responsible site professional;
- safe distance from water, heat and impact routes;
- electrical outlet and protective-device review by a qualified local person;
- stock loading and basket plan;
- asset ID, model label and service-record location.
The listed 255 W and 580 W figures are not permission to select a plug, cable, circuit or protective device. Ghana voltage/frequency, plug, conductor, earthing and local conformity fields must be confirmed for the actual order and site.
Keep Ghana Compliance on Its Own Evidence Line
Ghana importers should check the current requirements that apply to their product, shipment and importer role with the relevant authorities and licensed professionals. A route survey offers no proof that equipment is registered, energy-labelled or cleared for import.
The RFQ should request the exact model data, electrical configuration, refrigerant, labels and documents needed for the buyer's compliance review. Record the authority, document reference, responsible party and status. “Suitable for Ghana” is not an acceptable substitute for a completed review.
Run a Pre-Delivery Route Trial
Before dispatch, use a taped floor rectangle, rigid mock-up or drawing-controlled handling simulation based on the confirmed packed dimensions. Include the handling equipment. Walk the route in the same direction the cabinet will travel.
At each gate, record PASS, FAIL or OPEN. A route with one OPEN gate is not released. Resolve temporary stock, door keys, lift booking, staff and equipment availability as well as permanent dimensions.

Receiving-Day Evidence
At the unloading point, match the model, package and shipment documents before moving the unit. Photograph all sides of the packaging and any visible impact. Keep accessory packs and paperwork linked to the cabinet's asset or carton ID.
Move the unit only under the approved plan. If the route differs from the survey, stop at a safe staging point and reopen the assessment. After placement, inspect the cabinet and accessories, record any damage, and follow the supplier's settling and commissioning requirements before operation.

FAQ
Can I use the listed 900 mm cabinet width as the required doorway width?
No. The listed dimension is not the packed width or an approved handling clearance. Obtain current package data and calculate the route with the responsible logistics team.
Is the IA-2500 always harder to deliver than the IA-2200?
It is 300 mm longer in the listed cabinet dimensions, but the actual constraint depends on package size, weight, turns, handling equipment and the site. Survey both models rather than relying on a general label.
Does passing the warehouse entrance prove the final position works?
No. Lid movement, aisles, floor, ventilation, service access, electrical provision and stock workflow must also pass.
